Valeria Buoli Comani is a PhD student in Drug Sciences at the University of Parma, under the supervisor of Prof. Serena Faggiano. She is graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemisitry and Technology. Her Master’s thesis was focused on the functional characterization of phosphoserine phosphatase, an enzyme involved in the biosinthesis of L-serine in the brain, and its variants. The aim of her PhD project the comprehension of the mechanism of hemophore-mediated iron acquisition by Staphylococcus aureus and the study of inhibitors able to interfere with this target.
