Sarah Hijazi is a Post-Doc researcher at the University of Urbino, in Prof. Emanuela Frangipani’s group.
She has a MSc from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Technologies from the University of Roma Tre. Her main expertise is related to iron metabolism in multidrug-resistant bacteria. During her career, she has worked on projects aimed at the development of new drugs to combat bacterial infections. In this area, she has contributed to an original project entitled “Hijacking bacterial iron metabolism using the post-transition metal gallium”. Her actual project is related to the expression and regulation of the iron acquisition systems in Staphylococcus aureus and testing of specific inhibitors in iron depleted media.
